We had another busy (and snowy) weekend here. After dropping Kasy off at the train station on Saturday morning, I headed in to the office for a few hours. Even though December is generally a slower month, with many people choosing to wait until after the holidays to begin pursuing disability claims, that has not been the case this year. So I’ve been swamped, and took the opportunity to get some work done in the office by myself.
While I was there, the snow started coming down. As Kasy wouldn’t be back from her internship until that evening, I took the opportunity to do the grocery shopping on my own. Both the grocery store and Target were packed (I guess people were anticipating a blizzard) but I managed to get everything in relatively short order.
On Sunday, we finished up Kasy’s Christmas shopping. This involved a trip to The Crushed Olive in Babylon Village, which sells gourmet olive oils and balsamic vinegars. If you’re into things like that, I’m sure it’s a great time. I was happy to leave, but considering where we went next, I wouldn’t have minded staying there all day. We headed to the Roosevelt Field mall, along with what seemed like most of Long Island. All things considered, it wasn’t that bad, and all the Christmas shopping is done.
On the way home, we got our Christmas tree, which is currently in its stand waiting for the branches to finish dropping. I imagine we’ll decorate it tonight, so I will be putting the lights on when I get home from work tonight. We then put up all of our outdoor decorations, which look great due to Kasy’s artful placement – I will try to put a picture up tonight.
This was another eventful weekend, and the week ahead promises to be more of the same. I have some great stuff coming up this week, including reviews of two amazing winter seasonal beers, some information about beer projects I have been working on, and of course, cat pictures!
